What Happens If You Don’t Give Action to Water Damage Soon?
When water damage occurs, you should at least take it seriously.Water damage sources are groundwater, sewage, dishwasher, broken pipe or any home system malfunction. Water doesn’t just dry up and goes away. It should be treated right away, or it can cause serious damage. What will happen if we don’t clean it right away?
1. Toxic to your health: Flood water is a big source of hazardous elements such as bacteria, fungi, toxic waste, pollutants and sewage. Sewage water is nasty and dirty. Even if the water is visibly all gone, there are waste left behind and they cause health risk.
2. Depreciates the value of the Home: When it is time to sell your home and about to hire an appraiser, he/she might be able to see the sign of untreated water damage. Your home has a possibility lower its price value and buyers will not be attracted to buy it.
3. Electrical System can be affected: Contact a professional to inspect your electrical system. This is the safest thing to do. It can be fatal if electrical wirings is still exposed to water.
4. Wet Wood Floors and Walls: Woods absorbs water quickly. Therefore molds can grow faster.
5. Insects, Bugs and fungus: Insects such as mosquitoes love to hatch their eggs in stagnant water. They hatch and spread diseases and bacteria that can be harmful. After the water evaporates, it creates mold and mildew.
