DOES HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE COVER MOLD?
Mold is a nightmare for every homeowner. It is an issue that is not something to simply ignore. Apart from affecting your health, it can also damage your property. Mold produces spores which spread by floating around the air.

When is mold covered by insurance?

Homeowner’s insurance will not cover damages from mold if it caused by own neglect and lack of maintenance. Examples of when mold is not covered are:
- If there is a leak and you decided not to fix it resulting in mold infestation.
- When you live in a humid climate and you don’t use humidifier, mold grew as result.
- A storm causes flooding, causes mold growth in your home.
