THE IMPORTANCE OF FIRE ESCAPE PLAN
Fire safety is the most utmost importance in any building. It should always be a main concern, no matter what type of business you run or how many people are employed.
Fires can be deadly. The speed at which a fire spreads through a facility varies based on the materials and causes of the blaze. Every emergency and fire restoration encourages every commercial property owner to create a fire escape plan. Many businesses do not know what entails. Escape plan should not be complicated. Below are components that requires in escape plan:
- Two Exit Minimum
Normally, a workplace must have at least two exit route to permit prompt evacuation of employees and other buildings occupants during emergency. If a room has only one exit, then people may become rapped if the fire overtakes that exit.
- Clear Pathways
All routes must be kept clear, including outside the premises that are included in the escape route. Make sure that hallways are free of clutter and that exit points are not blocked by shelving.
- Implementation and Practice
It is not enough to create exit strategies. Implementation is the only way to test effectiveness of a plan and put it in action. Routine practice should take place to ensure that every employee makes it safely without incident.
