COMMERCIAL VANDALISM: Do’s and Don’ts to Consider
Dealing with graffiti and vandalism as a business owner can be a frustrating and expensive problem. This makes it increasingly more difficult to deal with when your commercial building/property is spray painted or damaged. Getting money for repairs from the insurance company can be stressful and complicated, especially when a property has already been damaged by fire. Attempting to deal with vandalism yourself results in further damage to the exterior of your building. To avoid making any additional damage, below are list of things to do until the commercial cleaning service arrives.
Do:
- Wash egg damage from the building exterior as soon as possible
- Vacuum glass particles from carpet and upholstery to avoid any injuries
- Save container which could reveal the ingredients of spilled inks, cosmetics and paints to know what products was used.
Don’t:
- Operate damage lamps or any electronics
- Attempt to remove ink, paint or cosmetic stains. Stain manipulation could spread or push stain makeup deeper into the material.
- Discard furniture, art objects or broken pieces from porcelain.
