Containment is one of the most underrated parts of remediation work. We at SERVPRO of Ventura, containment matters. We take great pride in our cleanliness. We generally used containment to prevent occurrence of additional damage to contents in home that have been affected or only lightly affected. Once our crew arrives on site, we test and then begin work either place containment or completely remove content on the job site. Most content is packed out and moved off of the job site if it was heavily affected and needs cleaning.

Containment helps in numerous ways including:

  • Prevent substances – such as mold spores, lead-based paint, silica dust, and more from spreading throughout the entire structure.
  • Creates a barrier to keep dust and other particles confined within a workspace, which helps make clean-up easier for our crews.
  • Create a closed drying chamber, so we don’t waste time drying unaffected areas.

There are several different ways we can create containment; we always begin with containment plastic sheeting that can be used to wrap specific items. It also helps create negative pressure by sectioning off an area and placing equipment inside the containment to aid drying. Zipwall is perhaps the most well-known. They created spring loaded poles that make building barriers as easy as cutting sheeting, attaching and raising within a matter of minutes – no longer requiring hours of painstaking setting up plastic and taping.

SERVPRO of Ventura understands how important it is to return your home or business to preloss condition as quickly and smoothly as we are able to.

If you think that your home needs some CLEANING, we are here to help. Call us at (805) 656-3911. All of our cleanup practices are in accordance with the guidelines provided by the CDC and local authorities.
